Who We Are
World-Class Cancer Care in Kimberley
The Northern Cape Oncology Centre is a specialist cancer treatment facility based in Kimberley, dedicated to providing comprehensive, world-class oncology care to the people of the Northern Cape. For too long, patients in our region had to travel great distances for cancer treatment — we exist to change that.
Our centre brought advanced radiotherapy to the Northern Cape for the first time, marking a major step forward in regional cancer care. Today, we offer a full continuum of services — from screening and early detection, through medical oncology and radiotherapy, to clinical research — all under one roof.
As part of the ICON SA oncology network, we combine specialist expertise with modern technology and a deeply human approach. Our guiding philosophy is simple: Care, Hope, and Healing for every patient who walks through our doors.

Dr Daniel Osei-Fofie

Specialist Clinical & Radiation Oncologist
Dr Daniel Osei-Fofie is a specialist clinical and radiation oncologist who leads the Northern Cape Oncology Centre with a vision of bringing world-class cancer care to under-served communities. His qualifications and years of experience place him among the region’s most respected cancer specialists.
Beyond his clinical work, Dr Osei-Fofie is a passionate advocate for reducing disparities in cancer care. He has pioneered the use of telemedicine and education — including the ECHO model — to train healthcare workers, improve early detection, and extend access to treatment for patients across the region and beyond, including collaborative work supporting cancer patients in Lesotho.
His commitment to innovation, education, and compassionate care is at the heart of everything our centre stands for.
Why We Matter
Closing the Cancer Care Gap
The Northern Cape is the largest province in South Africa, yet it has historically had the fewest resources for cancer care. With a high incidence of lung cancer and mesothelioma linked to the region’s mining history, the need for accessible, specialist oncology services has never been greater.
Our centre was established to meet that need — bringing advanced cancer screening, treatment, and radiotherapy directly to the people of the Northern Cape, so that distance and limited resources no longer stand between patients and the care they deserve.
